Huion KAMVAS GT-220 vs Wacom Cintiq 22HD: Standard against Modernity

Huion KAMVAS GT-220 vs Wacom Cintiq 22HD

The Huion KAMVAS GT-220 vs Wacom Cintiq 22HD drawing tablet comparison allows me to see that the first model is the best choice for the beginners, and the second one will definitely help the professional to create high-level drawings. Both units have a similar number of USB ports, which work great.

Design and Functionality

Both models have modern screens but the Huion KAMVAS GT-220 doesn’t support the multitouch feature, so I can’t draw with 2 pens at a time. The Wacom Cintiq 22HD is supplemented by this peculiarity, but sometimes these functional characteristics work incorrectly and I have to push the pens with great effort to get the required result. Furthermore, the GT-220’s read speed is much better than the 22HD’s (233 pps versus 133 pps). Sketchbook and Photoshop greatly work on both units, and the limiting factor is only the brushes, presets, and imagination. There is also 1 more difference between models: buttons number. The Huion has 5, while the Wacom is extended with 16. I like when the device has many good-working physical buttons because they are easily adjustable, but for some people, 5 will be enough, and the 16 are regarded as distracting elements.

Stylus

The Wacom Cintiq 22HD vs Huion KAMVAS GT-220 aren’t difficult to compare because the first thing that I see is the eraser absence in the second model. Such a stylus feature is very important and the Wacom Cintiq 22HD has a small one remover on the back side. The Huion pen is a little bit longer than the Wacom’s and such a peculiarity is useful because I can draw very small elements even on the edge of the screen. Both styluses look great, but even small scratch on the 22HD‘s sensitive part creates real problems in use. The line appears to be not thin and holistic. The GT-220’s pen is more solid.

Huion KAMVAS GT-220 Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • It greatly works with the entire Adobe Suite programs.
  • I’m glad that there are no shortcut buttons on the sides. They don’t interrupt the creative process.

Cons:

  • Brightness adjusting is a very slow process. The colors are great, but it takes much time to choose the best variant and the tablet’s reaction is very sluggish.
  • This can hardly be called the portable device. It’s huge and very heavy.

Wacom Cintiq 22HD Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • I can adjust the slide-panels on the frame’s back on the fly.
  • The Wacom settings software is nice and familiar.

Cons:

  • Colors are not as vibrant on the tablet as on a regular monitor.
  • There are some visible pixels on the screen after picture zooming.
