Huion KAMVAS GT-220 vs Wacom Intuos Pro Medium: Competition between Professionals

Huion KAMVAS GT-220 vs Wacom Intuos Pro Medium

The Huion KAMVAS GT-220 vs Wacom Intuos Pro Medium checking-up illustrates that the first model has worse pressure sensitivity in comparison with the second one (2048 versus 8192). Besides, the Wacom works much slower than the Huion because the Intuos Pro Medium tablet displays the lines not immediately after the pen. The GT-220 doesn’t have such problems; moreover, its screen stays sensible even in the extreme corners.

Design and Functionality

The Wacom Intuos Pro Medium vs Huion KAMVAS GT-220 visual appearance shows that both devices look gorgeous and have black metal corps. The visible distinction is the heating of the back side. The first device stays cool even after a long drawing process, while the second one becomes very hot and I can barely touch the rear side. The Wacom has 8 programmable express keys, while the Huion is supplemented with 5 non-adjustable buttons (Auto, Power, Menu, , and -). The Intuos Pro Medium doesn’t have the updated firmware, unlike the Huion, so its functionality is at a lower level.

Stylus

Both pens are great, but the Wacom’s unit has a battery-free pen, unlike the Huion. Styluses are covered with a high-quality rubber that has an unpleasant smell. The Intuos Pro Medium is extended with a too hard nib, which leaves quite noticeable scratches on the screen protection. The KAMVAS GT-220 also has the same issue, but the scratches are much smaller and barely visible.

Huion KAMVAS GT-220 Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • It has the plugs for USB, HDMI, DVI, and VGA.
  • A thin border between screen and actual edge of the tablet allows having the enormous screen.

Cons:

  • The too much weight (14.6 pounds) makes the device uncomfortable to use while traveling.
  • Colors aren’t natural and even adjustments don’t help.

Wacom Intuos Pro Medium Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Its lightweight (1.54 pounds) allows carrying the tablet in a small bag.
  • The native wireless is great. I don’t need to buy and use an additional wireless accessory kit.

Cons:

  • I have to calibrate each brush to get the specific pressure curves.
  • The touch doesn’t work correctly in most programs. I guess the problem is in the driver’s compatibility with different apps.
