Wacom Intuos Pro Medium vs Huion Giano WH1409: New-Level Drawing

Wacom Intuos Pro Medium vs Huion Giano WH1409

Huion Giano WH1409 vs Wacom Intuos Pro Medium comparison showed that both devices have the same 5080lpi resolution, which allows sensing the stylus tip well while drawing. As for the rest features, the tablets differ in almost everything, beginning with the way they look: Wacom is pretty small compared with giant Giano that has the biggest work area in Huion drawing tablets line. Wacom Intuos Pro Medium astonishes with its 8192 pressure sensitivity and multitouch active surface. Huion Giano WH1409, in its turn, pleased me with enhanced responsiveness compared with Wacom Intuos Pro Medium.

Design and Functionality

The design of two units is hard to compare because they differ greatly. Wacom Intuos Pro Medium is relatively small and weighs little. Huion Giano WH1409 is heavy and pretty big. Wacom tablet is equipped with 8 additional buttons that can be programmed according to the user’s preferences. All the buttons are conveniently placed on the left side of the front panel. Huion Giano WH1409 has 12 buttons that can be customized as well. The great Huion’s advantage is its impressively large drawing surface. Wacom offers more modest sizes. However, notice that the work area is smaller than the overall tablet size, in both models. Also, neither of the tablets has a built-in screen.

I like that Wacom Intuos Pro Medium has 3 different texture sheets. There are smoother and rougher textures that allow personalizing surface feel. Huion Giano WH1409 surface is smooth and thus it enables swift and effortless strokes. Also, such a surface fosters broad brush strokes and enforces the drawing skills.

Stylus

Wacom Intuos Pro Medium, as well as Huion Giano WH1409, has a classic pen-like stylus type. The stylus can be used with both left and right hands. The pen is lightweight and easy-to-use. The Giano’s pen is equipped with 2 more buttons, also programmable. It comes with 8 additional pen tips. Wacom Intuos Pro Medium also has interchangeable pen nibs. The tablets come with a pen holder, which is really handy and prevents from losing the pen.

Wacom Intuos Pro Medium Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • The tablet is lightweight, portable, and looks really nice.
  • The touch surface has excellent palm rejection.

Cons:

  • Even a smooth surface sheet is a bit rough. The pen doesn’t glide smoothly and it slows down the production and effectiveness.

Huion Giano WH1409 Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • The tablet’s wireless communication ranges up to 40 feet and allows not feeling restricted by space, offering multiple placement options.
  • The device is affordable and has a twice bigger active-drawing area compared with its overpriced competitors.

Cons:

  • Massive size of the tablet can be uncomfortable.
