This Huion H420 review will reveal some details about one of the cheapest yet solid drawing tablets on the market. This model has a small working area, being designed mainly for beginners and kids th...
Read MoreThe first feature to compare Huion H610 Pro vs H420 is their size and weight. The former is much larger and heavier providing more screen area for the professional projects. Huion H420 is compact and easy to carry along and features the same full pressure sensitivity and high resolution of 4K pixels. The sensitivity can be easily adjusted to my liking on both tablets, while Huion H610 Pro is more impressive for drawing thick textured lines and knitted thin ones. Its responsiveness is slightly more accurate versus Huion H420’s, reacting immediately to the pressure change.
The comparison of Huion H420 vs H610 Pro presents similar design decisions, while the build quality differs. Huion H610 Pro feels more expensive and solid. In the meantime, Huion H420 somewhat flippant lightness is compensated by the perfect weight of the pen. The device features three buttons that can be assigned to different functions within Photoshop, Krita, Design Max, etc. Huion H610 Pro has 8 buttons, which can be cool if working in two-three apps. However, for more of them, it would be a pain to remember all the shortcuts.
Both models of Huion H420 vs H610 Pro are more Windows-friendly than Mac’s. Huion H610 Pro works seamlessly in Windows 10, while in iOs, some in-app functions (like panning or color tonality changing) might be unavailable. Huion H420 can work with Windows 10 as well, while it might get sync issues occasionally.
The setup of both models is quite simple; however, it might take time with the disc installation, choosing the tablet model, etc. Yet, I had no problem getting all the drivers from Huion’s website and setting both tablets up in no time.
The pen of Huion H420 fits well in the hand and the buttons for controls / shifting are easily accessible. However, while using the button I had to hover the pen above the surface, which seemed unnatural and not handy. There are no control issues with the Huion H610 Pro stylus, but its charging cable has rather tight connection and flimsy touch.
