Huion H610 vs Huion H420 – Digitizers for Fun and Study

Huion H610 vs Huion H420

I’d like to compare two low-cost units Huion H610 vs Huion H420 that have no built-in screens (not very convenient because you cannot look at what you’re creating as you’re looking at your screen but not at the tablet). Huion H610 is more expensive but offers the higher resolution and larger active area. Huion H420 is cheaper but includes more punches in the kit (cleaning kits, anti-fouling glove, and wool liner bag). Both devices have the same pressure sensitivity – 2048 levels to create a wide range of pieces of art.

Design and Functionality

The comparison of Huion H610 vs H420 drivers demonstrates their futility. Both models go with drivers on CDs but they could do nothing with some comps and laptops (especially MACs), so it is better to visit the brand’s website to download drivers.

While looking at Huion H420 vs Huion H610 the first one looks like a toy. Though it is much smaller, it is very convenient and saves the space. Besides, its dimensions are perfect for the kids’ hands.

Huion H610 looks solid but not as a low-cost gadget. The pen glides on the Huion H610’s surface smoothly and fast that makes the drawing completely realistic.

With regard to the Huion H420 vs H610’s purpose, both of them are mostly for casual usage, but Huion H420 is able to make vector redraws and touch-ups for raster images in some minutes. However, the tablet’s surface blends a little pressing the pen down on it.

The Huion H610’s buttons are recessed enough not to push them without the need for it. Besides, they are easy to program and respond appropriately in either GIMP or Photoshop. The unit is compatible with most all graphics software.

Stylus

Huion H610’s pen is not heavy versus Huion H420’s one (it’s a tad heavy) and it is rather convenient to hold due to its slightly grippy coverage. Both styluses are plastic, but they do not look cheap. Either H610 or H420 has no batteries, but H420 also has no charging cable.

Huion H610 Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Eight helpful hotkeys (not customizable though).
  • The buttons are mapped to all the common tools (brush, eraser, zoom, etc) automatically.

Cons:

  • Not very pleasant pen-to-surface sound that could bother.
  • No lightning on the buttons.
