Epson Home Cinema 1060 review

Epson Home Cinema 1060The device has an amazing color balance; it doesn’t wash out colors and displays the pictures very vividly. Even the dark movie scenes stay the same while watching them on a sunny day. The inbuilt speakers are too quiet and it’s better to install the additional subwoofers.

Epson Home Cinema 1060 PROS:
  • The unit is compact and can be easily transported in a small bag.
  • Action scenes don’t have a rainbow effect and all the moves are very clear.
Epson Home Cinema 1060 CONS:
  • The device has a very fragile corps.
  • The unit doesn’t have full support for multimedia playback via the USB port.

Optoma GT1080Darbee review

Optoma GT1080darbeeThe projector is easy to plug and play. Darbee mode presents a great opportunity to enjoy truly black colors. Focus adjustment performs not via lens so the user can’t accidentally unfocus the picture. The projector is difficult to center, so I have to use a wooden built platform. It’s uneasy to set up the projector image size due to the menu, besides, manual doesn’t have enough information on this process.

Optoma GT1080Darbee PROS:
  • The device doesn’t need to be moved away from the wall. 2 meters are enough to get a giant screen with a sharp image and clear quality.
  • It doesn’t get hot even under hard working conditions.
Optoma GT1080Darbee CONS:
  • The device turns off spontaneously. It needs to turn it on one more time.
  • The top of the image is bowed.

Optoma GT1080Darbee vs Epson Home Cinema 1060: Functional Matching

The Epson Home Cinema 1060 has better lamp type in comparison with the Optoma, so the projected pictures are much brighter and colorful. 2 HDMI plugs work perfectly, unlike another model, on which 1 of 2 connectors doesn’t work at all. It is also noteworthy that the cooling fan produces too much noise while working at regular power mode. The ECO power-saving mode makes the projector work quieter, but the picture becomes dimmed.

The Optoma GT1080Darbee has a great working audio out, which is absent on the Epson. Its stereo sound is also much better versus 1060’s because the last one has flat mono sound that makes music very flat and artificial. It needs only 20 seconds to turn the GT1080Darbee on, while the Epson requires 25-30 second. At the same time, the device doesn’t have a zoom and produces the relatively low-quality picture.

Before making the final choice it’s better to pay attention to the lamp life and speaker power.
