Today choosing between Epson Home Cinema 2045 versus Epson Home Cinema 2045 will be quite easy for most of you. Both of them are identical in most of the things - they can be controlled remotely, not very loud (37 dBA while operating), support even highest 1920 x 1080 resolution. What's the difference then? The answer is simple, in comparison with Epson 2045, Epson 2040 is a bit smaller so if you don't have much space, the projector of 11.7 x 9.65 x 4.49 inches will be definitely in favor. However, if you have a big home cinema room, personally I think that the little projector will look a bit lost and you need a bigger one like Epson 2045.

Pros of Epson 2040:
- I came across “Dynamic” picture feature and loved it, I find the colors deeper and enhanced in this setting.
- The contrast is sharp and deep even it is only 35,000:1.
Cons of Epson 2040:
- I would love a fan noise level to be a bit less then now, I actually can notice it while watching the film if I sit close enough.
Epson 2045 Home Theater Projector pros & cons
Pros of Epson 2045:
- I am using Chromecast so for me Play/Pause buttons on remote was a salvation.
- The contrast ratio is outstanding for the cost of the projector.
- HD resolution for me is a must have so was pleased to actually see the announced HD live at my house.
Cons of Epson 2045:
- No horizontal lens shift.
- Keystone correction feature isn’t really useful, especially given that as it is not on the remote.
- In silent scenes, I could notice the noise from the projector and this spoils a film a bit.
