I had an opportunity to test two solutions provided by Epson – 2030 and 2045. I would like to share my experience that will help you choose between Epson 2030 vs Epson 2045.
Epson 2045 guarantees higher contrast – compare 35000:1 versus 15000:1 that Epson 2030 has. Epson 2045 also has better white and color brightness – 2200 lumens versus 2000 lumens that Epson 2030 guarantees. Therefore, Epson 2045 would be a bit better option for a bright room. Moreover, it has a wireless module that allows you using the Miracast and Intel WiDi streaming technologies. These models have a built-in mono speaker - 2045 has a 5 W speaker, and 2030 has only a 2 W speaker. It may be not a perfect option for you since both speakers are not very powerful. However, both models heat a lot and they may require using extra cooling devices. You may avoid the excessive heating problem by using the “eco” mode (which also helps to prolong the lamp life), but it also can make the image less bright.
If you want to buy a good projector for your home, and you need to choose between Epson 2045 vs Epson 2030, then you should consider that 2045 is a more advanced version. It has better brightness and contrast, but 2030 outputs vivid colors. However, 2030 has some issues with compatibility – but sometimes appeared troubles while using it with PS3 and Denon, while 2045 had some issues with the Bluetooth connection. You should not ignore the price factor as well.
