BenQ HT2050 vs Epson Home Cinema 3700

BenQ HT2050: projector that won’t disturb silence

BenQ HT2050BenQ HT2050 3D projector produces 1080p high-resolution picture. Powered by 2200 lumens and ANSI Brightness technology it delivers the most life-like rich color gamut. The projector is equipped with the Color Wheel, which along with ISF Certified Calibrator ensures high-quality picture for watching in day and night lighting. It’s very quiet, its fan noise doesn’t prevent from watching and listening to the projected content. It’s really nice when you hear the content and not the device operating noise. I also noticed that BenQ HT2050 is easy to install and set up with a diagonal screen.

BenQ HT2050 PROS:
  • The lamp will serve for a long time with SmartEco technology and auto standby mode that secure energy saving.
  • BenQ HT2050 is compatible with HDTV, NTSC, PAL, SECAM, and SDTV‎, and thus, guarantees the best entertainment.
BenQ HT2050 CONS:
  • BenQ HT2050 projector doesn’t have high contrast ratio, only 15000:1. It’s enough for decent picture quality, but when I compare it with Epson’s 70000:1 contrast, I must admit the BenQ is inferior.

Epson Home Cinema 3700: cinematic experience in your house

Epson Home Cinema 3700Epson Home Cinema 3700 is the projector that perfectly fits different lighting conditions with the help of Color and White Brightness technology and 3000 lumens. I managed to set such brightness level that was the most pleasant for the eyesight. Another feature of Epson Home Cinema 3700 that I like is its 3D Full HD 1080p widescreen performance. It turns movies, games, sports into pure joy for the eyes with its high contrast ratio that delivers deep black levels and sharp details even in the darkest scenes.

Epson Home Cinema 3700 PROS:
  • 1.6x zoom enables flexible positioning of the device.
  • The projector provides Epson Image Enhancement Technology, which guarantees the utmost smoothness and clarity of the images.
Epson Home Cinema 3700 CONS:
  • This model’s a bit noisy in normal mode.

BenQ HT2050 vs Epson Home Cinema 3700: premium-class home theatre projectors

When testing, I liked both devices. The comparison of Epson Home Cinema 3700 vs BenQ HT2050 shows that the units are reliable and well-featured. The projectors are equipped with equally durable lamps with a slight difference: BenQ’s lamp is 240W versus Epson’s 250W. Another difference is that BenQ HT2050 offers only 1.3x zoom and 1.15 - 1.5 throw ratio range. Nevertheless, I liked BenQ for its quiet functioning.

Epson Home Cinema 3700 presents 1.32 - 2.15 throw ratio. Also, it’s equipped with a stereo speaker, which produces good sound and transfers more audio details compared with a mono speaker in BenQ HT2050.
