Huion Q11K: Wireless Drawing Tablet with 8192 Pressure Levels and Customizable Hotkeys

Huion Q11K

The first thing advertised in a regular Huion Inspiroy Q11K review is its wireless interface letting you cut the cord and work where you deem convenient. Still, this drawing tablet has many features usually appreciated in Huion pads. It’s quick and sensitive, with a wide range of pressure tints.

Testing this tablet I frequently recalled the XP-Pen Star 05 that has similar specs and price. The latter has a different design of the working area, and smaller size. It also supports the wireless connection to a PC, and has high pen sensitivity and resolution. However, I’d describe the Huion Inspiroy Q11K performance as a more stable one, with more accuracy in pressure response. There were no cursor trembling or command delay issues. The functionality in Photoshop and Corel Draw is abundant, and the tools work as expected.

Still, there are minor issues about Q11K model design, and mainly, they’re linked to the battery. Scroll down to explore this drawing pad’s features in detail!

Setup

As with other Huion tablets, the Huion Q11K driver can be downloaded from the supplied CD or from the official website. I tried the CD this time and had it ready within 5 minutes.

It took me about 5 hours to have the Q11K fully charged. In this model, the pen is rechargeable, too. Its charging might take an hour or so.

At first, I connected the tablet to my PC through the supplied micro USB cable. Then, I shifted to the 2.4G module (I hooked it to the USB A port on the PC) and found out that it works quite well at least within 20ft. The signal was strong and the response was immediate.

Features

The Huion Inspiroy Q11K wireless graphic drawing tablet has a battery with a high-capacity. It lasted over 20 hours of work, and there was still juice in it.

The stylus is sensitive and responsive, rated at 8192. I had fun playing with the line thickness or the measure of an effect chosen in Photoshop.

The express keys are simple to program and use. I also liked the large working area (resolution 5080 LPI) that let me work out the photos and adjust a collage in no time.

The absence of multi-touch functionality disappointed me a bit. Still, the fine gradation of the effects and the pleasant paper-like feel of the surface made me enjoy the tablet.

Design

The Huion Q11K is a mid-to-large tablet with 11 x 6 inches working area. The express keys are located on the left side, provide a mid-stiff response, and have different notches on them (so that you learn them fast). The stylus lacks the eraser, which I found inconvenient. The stylus buttons are low-profile one and not easily pressed. Still, the pen itself has a good weight and feels comfortable in the palm.

The device is slim but weighs almost 2lbs (due to the battery). The corners are slightly rounded, and the surface is matte. It comes with a full pack of accessories including a heavy pen holder. The latter has slots inside for storing tips and a wireless USB module.

Design estimation: 10 / 10

Conclusion

I’d recommend purchasing the Q11K model by Huion if you like to move during your work, change locations, or sit farther from the monitor than a cord would allow. It’s for you if you need a big drawing area with good resolution, and a consistent sensitive pen. However, if you’re used to multitouch-enhanced pads or a standard stylus-and-eraser design, this tablet would require some effort to work with. Overall, it’s quick in operation and supports various software, pleasant to touch and to hold, and features lots of accessories. Worth trying!
