Here, I review the Huion H420 vs 680S that differ by size and additional functions. The hardware and operation quality turned out to be on the same level, it was more about the comfort of use. The pressure sensitivity is okay for the occasional non-professional use. I tried the Photoshop, Osu, GIMP on both tablets and found the 680S being more solid in performance, while H420 model could register a different sensitivity in Photoshop and Osu, which is not very handy. Drawing the parallel between Huion 680S vs H420 for responsiveness, I must say H420 responds immediately, while I registered some delay with 680S - not irritating, though.
Huion 680S is twice larger that H420, which is certainly a point in its favor. However, I was pleased with the zoom function enabled by the Multitouch in Huion H420. Besides, this graphics tablet has three buttons and express keys that can be customized in different software like Adobe or Krita.
The build quality of 680S feels more reliable in comparison to the lightweight plastic of the body and buttons of Huion H420.
The drawing surface of Huion 680S feels more “mildly rough” and natural and is closer to the “paper” touch than the glassy touch of Huion H420.
The stylus of Huion H420 feels very lightweight, while the good weight of the one for Huion 680S is somewhat compromised by its bulky size. To compare the pens, I used them for drawing in Krita. I’ve found the Huion H420’ scroll buttons a bit underperforming, while the turn on-off clicker of the 680S is really handy for saving the energy in the stand-by mode. The Huion 680S stylus can be powered with the AAA batteries, the Huion H420 is equipped with the cord only.
